Bekah Spurgeon

As a child Bekah traveled locally and abroad with Ekklesia Dance Troop. She received classical training at Greensboro Ballet and jazz, modern, and hip hop at Greensboro Dance Theater. Bekah attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studying modern under Jan Van Dyke, as well as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Theatre, studying under E.E. Balcos, Delia Neil, Missy Hayle Coyle former principle dancer of the American Ballet Theater, and April Berry former principle dancer of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. During her time in Charlotte, NC she danced professionally for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats' Dance Team. Bekah has trained at Broadway Dance Center, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and the American Dance Festival where she was chosen to perform Paul Taylor's Esplanade. She has also had the opportunity to perform for the American College Dance Festival Gala, the North Carolina Dance Festival, Dolphin Cruise Lines, and Disney World. During her time as a teacher in NC, Bekah has created award winning dances and still travels to the East Coast to choreograph for competitions. She recently moved to LA with her husband and continues to pursue her passion for dance and strives to inspire others in the form of teaching, choreographing, and performing.
